                        l have had a stoma reversal  but in the large bowel.Reading your post suggests that your bowel is working out how to function again and is just being erratic,rather than being blocked,Having experienced three seperate blockages you will know when your bowel is blocked,distended stomach and the pain is constantly excruciating.If your bowel is grumbling thats good because it means it active,when mine blocked it went absolutely silent.The bowel does not like being played about with and can take a good time to settle down.l have gone through 5 years of testing times before it has plateaued out to something resembling normality,and although l accept l will be at the extreme end of the spectrum,it does show that peoples expectations after a reversal are somewhat ahead of reality..l suspect that you need to think of progress changes in months rather than days,but it will happen.

                                   Try not to overstress since that tends to have a detrimental effect on the bowel and its the last thing you need on top of recovering from surgery, and best wishes for a good recovery

I would suggest that you make contact with your hospital stoma nurse who can advise you. Stomas do take time to settle down again, and it may involve keeping a food diary for a while, to see which foods are easiest to pass. Do let your GP know, as you may need some medications to help for a while, such as an anti spasmodic such as buscopan, or a gentle bowel stimulant, till things get into a more regular pattern.
