Colon bowel cancer

Hi my husband has  pain all over his abdomen which moves in different places for three month he done a fit test and come out positive with the gp does this mean he has bowel or colon cancer as he is so worried he said the pain is stabbing and sometimes when it moves it feels like a virus he is still eating well and has not loses any weight but he is frightening me as he says things upsetting to me

    Thank you you are very understanding he is now waiting for the colonoscopy they said it will take two week you have help my husband and me alot. You keep well and thank you again

    Hello and thank you for getting back to us, 

    It is difficult to me to say exactly what is going on, but I can appreciate that this is a very stressful time for you and your husband because of the uncertainty.

    I think it might be a good idea for you and your husband to contact the doctor again and talk through the current situation so that you feel you understand it better.

    The FIT test, as Julia my colleague has said above, measures the amount of blood in the poo, it does not measure the amount of a potential bowel cancer. Other tests are needed to decide if they think it is a cancer.
