Confused

Back again with the same problem it helps me to talk it through as my doctors are useless. Over a year ago now I went to the doctors with swollen lymph nodes not very big probably the size of a bean or so like had high platlets count. I got referred for a biopsy on my lymph nodes when they was doing the ultrasound on my nodes they said a biopsy wasn't needed. Fast forward a year later my lymph nodes are the same I have 3 just above my collar bone on my right side. Three behind my ear on my right side and one on my left side neck all about the size of a bean. My platlet count is all over the place one minute and low the next I've also just found a mole just above my pant line it's a circle it has about 2 different colours in like a lighter brown with dark brown lines through it almost looks a bit scabby but it isn't. I tried to call the doctors but there isn't any appointments due to covid or something like that. Do you have any advice I can look out for myself my sister (a paramedic) said I need to get it checked out as soon as I can which just worried me even more

  • Hello, and Thank you for getting back in touch, I'm sorry you are still having concerns.

Unfortunately we are unable to tell you what may be going on, and therefore also what to look out for other than changes that are abnormal for you.

Only the GP can assess and decide whether this needs to be further investigated so do try contacting them again. A lot of GP surgeries are offering telephone appointments to begin with but they will then bring you in if they feel it is appropriate.

Take care, and hopefully you will get to speak to someone soon.

    Sarah.

  • I would ring the drs again and ask for a triage appointment so you can speak to the doctor, they can advise you if they need to see you. As you still have concerns l would ask for referral back to the hospital, scans are only snapshots of the the day they are taken, they told me that in the breast clinic last year,  as things change a repeat would put your mind to rest .
l have had two mammograms in a year and seen the clinic three times, l spoke to the surgeon two weeks ago as she wanted me to stop taking the meds she had prescribed 10 days before.
l have spoken with the consultants secretary over the years and they have contacted the consultant to make appointments for me, when I have problems they usually give me next available appointment for six weeks or so. Both gynaecology and breast secs have been really helpful when needed.
    sorry to go on

take care l hope you are seen soon
