Groin lymph node surgery

I am due to have my groin lympth nodes removed on one side, the surgery is a week away & I have felt two nodes through my skin, and I have now got some tingling which I think might be due to the nodes pressing on nerves!

I am very worried about the surgery, as I have been informed there can be quite a few complications which sound horrific, can anyone share their experiences with me!

  • Hello and thanks for your post,

I am sorry to hear that you are having surgery next week.

I do hope that you have had a chance to discuss the surgery in detail with the surgeon or specialist nurse so that you have had a chance to have all your questions answered.

Unfortunately there are possible side effects with most treatments but how one treatment affects one person maybe different for another. If any side effects do occur there are often things that can be done to help relieve any side effects.

You have posted in ask the nurses if you post in another thread you may get some more replies from others who have had a similar surgery but do remember that everyone's experience maybe very different.

I do hope that you have the support of friends and family after the surgery so you can take it easy.

If you have specific questions that you want to ask then do get back to us or give us a ring. Our number is Freephone 0808 800 4040. we are here Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

    All the Best,

    Catherine
