Skin conditions can be difficult to diagnose so it's good that you were referred to the dermatologist.

Although it's understandable that people google their symptoms, it's easy to also jump ahead and think that your condition is exactly the same as one shown on the internet. It's really not possible though to compare , until you have been properly examined by a specialist. It may also need a biopsy before it's known what this may turn out to be.

Waiting is hard and I can appreciate that this is a worrying time for you- try if you can to keep busy and perhaps not go on the internet if possible, as this may only hugely increase your anxiety.

Hi.  You're not alone. I had a punch incision to remove a skin lesion on my arm - I had bad skin cancer back in 1997.  You're in good hands now.  It is hard not to worry - I'm still waiting on my biopsy result.  Never thought that I'd be doing that again.
