  • Hello Dizzy05,

I am sorry to learn about your mum and hope your daughter isn't feeling too poorly.

I'm afraid I have to sit on the fence a bit about what you should do. This is because although very unusual, it is possible to get chicken pox twice and sometimes people think they have had it before when actually they haven't. So I can't say for sure that it is ok for you to visit, but the risk of picking up and passing chickenpox on would be low for anyone who has already had it.

See what the NHS website says about chicken pox at this link .

I think all you can do is make your own risk assessment taking into account how sure you are that you have already have chicken pox in the past.

    Best wishes,

    Julia

  • Thanks for getting back to me. I had the chicken pox for the first time when I was 29yrs old.
