Hello, and thank you for posting.
I'm sorry you are worried about your raised CA125 blood test, and I realise you are concerned about ovarian cancer, but just to reassure you there are reasons that the CA125 can be higher than normal.
The CA125 blood test marks levels of a certain protein produced in a woman's pelvic area if there is irritation or inflammation. This can be caused by conditions like endometriosis, fibroids, pelvic inflammatory disease, as well as ovarian cysts. So this isn't a test that can only be used to diagnose cancer.
The doctor will use the results of this test, alongside any history you have given, to then potentially investigate further and find out for you the cause.
Take care, and hopefully you will know more about your situation soon.
Sarah.
