Possible lymphoma?

Around October 2021 I started feeling more fatigue than ever I thought it could be down to mental health but started having some really odd symptoms that could of been linked to anemia as I have been on the borderline for years had some bloods taken they came back also for thyroid problems but they all came back fine but the doctor wanted me to have a physical done at the surgery (I never did due to covid as I thought I would be wasting time). Fast forward some weeks later, late November early December I started feeling a lot worse to the point I noticed my left side of my gland became swollen no pain at this point then as time is going on I started getting a  cough, sore throat,  headache, night sweats mostly and some in the morning too but now pain is happening on the left side of my glands with a swelling of trachea (I think) I am also starting to feeling swollen lymph nodes under my armpits too. I got in touch with my GP by answering some questions to do with my symptoms through the NHS app after around 10 mins the GP wanted to book an appointment in person so I've got the appointment for next week. I know that you shouldn't be googling as it isn't good for the mind but when I did it showed lymphoma I'm just very worried and stressed as my mum has been fasted tracked to the breast clinic for a scan for cancer too.

  • hop your ok my husband has lymphoma

  • Hello and thank you for your post,

You did the right thing in making a GP appointment but I'm afraid that no one here can tell you what is the matter. Also please remember that searching online for a possible diagnosis can't tell you what is the matter and nearly everything you search will give you a list of health conditions that include a type of cancer.

I can appreciate that this must be an especially difficult time for you with your mum's breast clinic appointment coming up too. I hope she will be okay.

Please try not too worry too much, drink (water, juice)  plenty and get some rest and if you have a high temperature take over the counter medication such as paracetamol to help you feel better.

I hope your appointment goes well and that nothing serious is the matter.

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Take care,

    Caroline
