Is it most likely still a fibroadenoma?

Hi, Ive just joined. Not sure if this is how to make a post. Ive got a long story so here goes and apologies in advance but I really need some advise if anyone can:

Ive got two lumps on my left breast, one large one smaller and they feel like they might be attached. I went to my GP last year in Feb time I got checked. A biopsy was taken. The results camr back abnormal cells. So I was given a quick appointment to get another more invasive biopsy? They said the end results was a fibroadenoma. However I felt that the lump was growing. Went back to GP then breast clinic. The specialist was very rude and didnt think it had grown just because I felt it had. Anyway I got scanned again it had almost doubled in size in a few months. They lady who scanned it said I will need it removed, she also made the comment "I dont want to say it is but by the shape and way its growing it looks malignant" I phone up weeks after for an update only to find out my consultant hadnt seen my results as they were lost... Next day I received a phone call to be booked in for a pre op urgently. Ive since had a letter apologising that my operation wasnt arranged in the 12 week frame as advised previously because of covid.

I dont know if Im paranoid but I feel the lump had grown more and the shape is all lumpy and uneven, can even see how uneven the shape is through my skin.

When the GP last saw the lump she started panicking and asking how long its been this size and shape. Im getting wide local excision surgery and the booklet I received only talks about breast cancer, possible removal of lymph nodes and nipple depending on where lump is located.

Is there any way these lumps could be cancer? Can you have two cancerous lumps in the same place with feel attached? Or are they fibroadenoma's like concluded after 3 biopsies and multiple scans?

    Purely going by my wife's BC, yes, it is possible to have 2 malignant lumps side by side. At first, they weren't sure if it was 2 tumours or 1 weird shaped tumour.

    That said, only a biopsy can tell you whether it's BC or not.

    It's encouraging that the biopsies showed fibroadenoma and they can certainly sometimes grow to a very large size, needing surgery to remove them.

    It's hard for anyone though at this moment to be able to say what this may be , as it could be one large fibroadenoma or there may be a possibility of cancer - it's just not possible to second guess- the only way you'll know is by having the lumps removed and for them to be looked at in the laboratory. 

    It's really hard waiting for surgery and tests to come back, but there's nothing for it other than the wait. Try and not look too far ahead and keep busy

    Hi everyone, Ive been back to the clinic afyer my mum pushed for a review. I spoke to the specialist and they advised they are still behind. Said they werent worried because it was a fibroadenoma. Its still going and I expressed my concerns about the biopsy having abnormal cells and the lady who scanned it saying it looked malignant the shape and way it was growing. Its still growing and not smoth anymore, theres a lot of bumps on the lump. She said she had to check my notes. Came back in and rudely said my lump didn't have abnormal cells and suggested I was lying but said what was discovered was that the cells were fluorescent. Also admitted that it could be something more serious once its removed and tested. Obviously I wont know until then and Im not really worried anymore tbh. I was just wondering if anyone knew what fluorescent cells meant? Ive tried googling it but cant understand it lol. Also I'm back on my immunosuppressive treatment so after saying they would get me in for surgery ASAP they sent me a letter the other week suggesting that I can't get surgery until 4 months after my last treatment and I get my treatment twice every 6 months (oncr then 2 weeks later then a break for 6 months) this means my availability for surged has now been limited to a 2 months slot twice a year and Im just frustrated with the whole situation. I also have fertility issues so I have all my appointments for that coming up, first one on the 20th of this month on same day as my treatment and I just want the lumps removed so I feel like I can move on and concentrate on my other health issues. Sorry for the rant. Thanks

    Hi Nadine and thanks for posting again,

    I am so sorry to hear about your situation. You sound like you have a lot going on. 

    I am afraid I don't know what she meant when she referred to the cells as fluorescent and I think that this is a question that you will have to ask your doctors when you next see them and how it affects you. 

    I am sorry to hear about the wait for surgery.

    It can be very overwhelming when you are going for different investigations and you are waiting for different appointments to happen but try if you can to take one day at a time.
