Struggling

Hello.

for a couple of months now I have been struggling with various problems.  I had a full body bone scan in November but couldn't get into my follow up appointment 3 weeks after due to work but a nurse at the hospital called my mobile and left a message asking me to get my bloods done ASAP.     I have been vomiting a lot lately, been unbelievably itchy ( for no reason that I can think of) severe headaches, tiredness, joint pain, very loose bowel movements, difficulty swallowing for a  few months prior to my bone scan  and severe heartburn that does not go away with remedies and that has been going on for longer than the other stuff mentioned and now I am coughing with breathlessness and wheezing and an awful pain in the right hand side of my back where my ribs are (when I try to inhale) it is really painful and I can't take a deep breath in without it causing so much pain.  I am vaccinated against Covid 19 and I have not contracted it at all and I have to regularly test for work due to the nature of my work..... after the hospital nurse left me a voicemail, a week or so later I was then contacted by my doctors surgery (I was working away which is a regular thing)  whereby the lady there left a message and asked me to contact them as soon as possible but I don't finish work until they close and I tried to call in my lunch break a number of times and end up being in a call queue for at least an hour every single time and never get to speak to anyone.  I am a bit troubled by the issues I am having and they seem to be getting progressive and numerous.  Just wanted to know if this is something related to my having to have a full body bone scan? (This was ordered because of joint pain and because I have had a total hysterectomy)  Any advice & guidance would be very much appreciated!

Apologies for the very long message! Many thanks And best wishes to you all!

  • Hi and thanks for posting

It's not really possible to say whether your symptoms are connected to the bone scan and there can be a number of different explanations for your symptoms. As you have a number of these, it may be best to take some time off work with a view to getting checked out and having bloods taken, as only then will someone be able to say what may be going on and potentially refer you for further tests if necessary.

You can try calling the practice manager if you are having difficulty getting through to the GP or receptionist. If the pain and breathlessness continues it may be best to go to A&E or call 111.I hope you get seen soon.

    All the best Wanda
