CGIN

Hi,

I have a CGIN detected within the uterus, im having  a hysterectomy  within 2-4wks, I know it's abnormal cell but should I be overly concerned?

  • Hello and thanks for posting

I am sorry to hear you are needing to have a hysterectomy and imagine this must be an anxious time for you.

CGIN Cervical Glandular Intraepithelial as you say are abnormal or pre cancerous cells. Depending on the severity and location and any previous treatment received for CGIN a hysterectomy may be needed to ensure all the abnormal areas are removed.

You can read more about this here.

Do talk through any concerns you have with the team involved in your care as everyone situation will be different but your doctor or nurse will be able to tell you what to expect in your situation.

Do get back if you have any more questions or if you would prefer to talk things over the phone then call 0808 800 4040, Mon-Fri and speak to one of the nurses.

I hope everything goes well for you.

    Take care

    Naomi
