I'm sorry you have been having breakthrough bleeding - it can be frustrating not knowing what this may be down to and that it's still going on after quite a few months.

It's most probably best to go back to the GP and perhaps also ask if a  referral to a gynaecologist may be able to help further with this. You're posting on a cancer forum site so I'm guessing you may be wondering if there could be any connection. Hopefully you're up to date with your smears and again, I should imagine that the GP may already have had a look at your cervix and done some swabs to check for infection.

There may well  be different explanations for everyone, so it may not be best to compare your own situation with someone elses, though I can appreciate it may be helpful to hear different scenarios.

I hope things start to settle down soon and you get to find out a little more
