Follow up

I completed R-CHOP in July 2021 having been diagnosed as having Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma the previous December, and subsequenty received a letter stating that I am in remission. I had radiotherapy in October. I am due to have a follow-up telephone conference call/review with the consultant towards the middle of next month.

Should I be expecting a scan of some sort prior to the call/review in order to provide the consultant (and myself) with the current "picture"?

  • Hello and thanks for your post,

It is difficult to comment on the follow up of individual patients but it may be helpful to contact the haematology secretary to let them know that you have an appointment at the middle of next month and do you need a scan.

I have looked at follow up on Lymphoma action website and they say that a scan is not routinely used as part of ongoing follow-up as there is no evidence to suggest that follow-up scans change lymphoma treatment or outcome. Have a look at the information here

I hope this helps but if you want to check then do ring the haematology secretary to be sure.

If you would like to chat through any of this with one of the oncology nurses then you are welcome to get back to us or give us a ring.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Best Wishes,

    Catherine
