Do I have a right to be this worried?

Hello nurses and beautiful people,

I had a CT scan with IV contrast and all was normal. I then discovered a lump in my right breast and had a Mammo in May and Ultrasound in August and everything was clear. Then I had a couple of hard lymph nodes on my left collorbone and some one my right and they did another ultrasound in September with nothing wrong but limpomas. Now I have a small, movalble node on my right collarbone, near my neck. Should I be worried that they got my scan wrong? Should I be worried about breast cancer again or my pancreas?

Scan for ct:

TECHNIQUE: Routine portal venous phase contrast-enhanced evaluation. Oral contrast was not given.
COMPARISON: Ultrasound from earlier today.

HEPATOBILIARY SYSTEM:
Liver: No important abnormality.
Biliary Tree: Hyperdense stones/sludge layering dependently within the gallbladder. No important abnormality of the biliary tree.
Pancreas: No important abnormality.
GASTROINTESTINAL TRACT: No important abnormality. Normal appendix.
GENITOURINARY SYSTEM:
Adrenals: No important abnormality.
Kidneys / Ureters: No important abnormality.
Urinary Bladder: No important abnormality.
Reproductive Organs: Small volume fluid within the endometrial cavity. Otherwise uterus and adnexa are unremarkable..
LYMPHATIC SYSTEM: No important abnormality of the spleen. No lymphadenopathy.
PERITONEUM, RETROPERITONEUM & MESENTERY: No ascites or inflammatory change.
VESSELS & OTHER: No arterial abnormality. No venous abnormality.
BONES / BODY WALL: No important bony abnormality. No body wall abnormality.
LOWER THORAX (lung bases, heart): No important abnormality.

Scan for Mammo:

Bilateral Mammography with Tomosynthesis:

Patient under investigation for bilateral breast mass.

No comparable examination in PACS system when writing this dictation. The breasts are very dense.

At the site of clinical interest in the right breast there is an asymmetric density externally to tomosynthesis. This is understood over a distance of approximately 2.3 cm.

In the left breast, no abnormality at the level of the upper breast at the site of clinical interest. The breasts are very dense.

BI-RADS 0 we recommend a bilateral ultrasound of the breasts with special attention to the supero-external of the breast driot.

Scan for Mammo ultrasound:

Recent mammogram showing glandular asymmetry in the outer quadrant. The assessment had
suggested the presence of a heterogeneous area facing the upper outer quadrant of the right breast.
No evidence on ultrasound of lesion in both the right breast and the left breast, glandular tissue
dense however limiting the evaluation. Dense appearance at the 10-hour meridian in the right breast with
echogenic aspect of the gland on 3 cm x 1.5 cm without indicating any suspicious lesion, distortion or other.
No suspicious lymphadenopathy on the right.
On the left, reaction ganglion at most.
There is therefore no evidence of a suspicious abnormality on ultrasound in either the right or left breasts.
It is considered that the patient would benefit from a mammographic check-up in six months. If there is
worsening of the clinical condition, magnetic resonance may be performed before if deemed necessary.
BI-RADS 3

Scan for lymph nodes:

in the right and left supraclavicular region, the presence of benign ganglia with a thin and uniform cortex is identified, with preservation of a fatty hilum, on the left of 8 x 4 mm, of IO x 4 mm and of 3 x 3 mm and on the right of 9x5mm and of 7x2mm. To be monitored clinically.

I think my body is going bad because ive had 2 miscarriages in 2021 back to back and im terrifed if i get cancer i will never have a family.

If i could get any reassurance that would ease my mind.

What are the odds after an 8 month clear, somehow cancer develops.

Thank you for reading and listening,

Love you all.

Kayla

  • Hi Kayla

Thanks for the post. I'm sorry to hear you have had a tough 2021 with the miscarriages and I can appreciate that this must have left you feeling very anxious and vulnerable.

We are not however, able to report on scans as we are nurses and not radiologists. Your GP will have received all the reports and it's best that you go over any concerns you may have with them.

You have had a good number of tests and if there had been any cause for concern, you would have been informed and followed up, so though it's understandable you have been anxious, it's good that you've been checked out with no abnormality found.

It's far more common for people over the age of fifty to get cancer . Sadly, though it must have been devastating for you, having 2 miscarriages can , and very sadly does happen and yet it doesn't have to mean there is anything wrong with your body, like cancer.

Anxiety can sometimes start to take over your life and make it difficult to get on with your day to day life , so do have a chat with the GP if you feel this is happening. There is a good website addressing anxiety here on Every Mind Matters

All the best and I hope 2022 is a better year for you

    Wanda
