  • Hi Dave and welcome to Cancer Chat.

As you've posted in our nurses section of the forum I just wanted to let you know that they won't be working tomorrow as it's a bank holiday but once they return on Tuesday they will get back to you as soon as they can.

    Kind regards,

  • Hello and thanks for your post

I'm afraid we are unable to diagnose or tell anyone if anything is the matter. Lumps can have straightforward medical explanations, such as infection. But only a doctor can make a medical assessment so the best thing to do is to make an appointment to see your GP to get checked out just to be on the safe side.

Because of the current pandemic, it’s more likely you will be offered a telephone appointment initially with your doctor. After the consultation, if they feel they need to see you, they can offer you a face to face appointment.

Primary bone cancer is very rare but when it does occur limb sparing surgery is the main surgery for this cancer. This means removing the cancer without removing the affected arm or leg.

I hope everything turns out to be okay.

    Kind regards,

    Celene
