lump size of marrowfat pea under right arm pit

Hi all, ive found today a hard lump under my left arm pit, hard to touch not sore.  I wont get to see a doctor until thursday as Im off down london with my eldest as part of his xmas present.  I am worried as im a single mum and cancer does run in the family, any advise?

    I am afraid we are unable to say if there is anything the matter, hopefully you will get this discussed at the appointment you have with the doctor tomorrow. Lumps under armpits can happen for other reasons than cancer, but it is always good to get changes checked.

    You have mentioned that you have increased anxiety due to cancer running in your family. Very few cancers are hereditary, if useful I've put a link here which talks about hereditary cancers.
