Some advice...

I recently went to my doctors, as i had these little black spots on my nipple right in the corner, since this they have spread outwards. They are only tiny but iv never had them before so been thinking the worse. Since the appointment mid December, Iv been having pains in that breast and also iv been extremely tired, ( I get like 8 hours a night) iv also been having night sweats. This is all new to me & really confusing. I dont know if to go back to the doctors as i feel like a burden but something doesnt feel right. Im unsure what the next steps would be and wondered if anyone had anything similar. Thanks so much Xx

  • Hi,

What did the doctor say originally?  I would go back again if your concerned.  Your not wasting their time. I have breast pain and waiting referral.  I was told its probably a pulled muscle by my doctor and given anti inflammatory tablets but over Christmas it got worse.  I phoned emergency doctor and she said you need it checked.

    Hope you get it sorted

  • Thankyou for your reply. They said to leave it a month but to go back if it got any worse in between. Im going to go back after new year She wasnt sure what it was said it might be hormone related but was strange as i wasn't pregnant but also said it was highly likely it was cancer due to my age but the symptoms have got worse since i last went.

  • Hi,

I was told to wait six weeks, but like you it's got worse.  Sooner you get it looked at the better.  I'm trying to stay off Google but curiosity gets the better of me.  I have to phone tomorrow to get my appointment.

I was told it would be within 2 weeks.

  • Hi Izzylu and welcome to the forum.

I'm glad you've received some support and advice from Kernow200 but as you've made your post in our cancer nurses section of the forum I just wanted to let you know that they return from their Christmas break tomorrow and will reply to your post as soon as they can.

  • Hello there

Noticing changes in our bodies can be a worry but there can be many different reasons for these and most will be harmless and have a simple explanation.

You have done the right thing by seeing your GP and I assume they examined you and didn't find anything else untoward so advised to keep an eye on it, which is reasonable. If you have noticed this getting worse then it will do no harm to get back in touch and see what they have to say.

If needed they can arrange some tests or a referral to a skin specialist perhaps.

    Wishing you all the best
