Hi there,
Welcome to Cancer Chat, and I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties your partner is experiencing.
I just wanted to send a reply to say that our nurses are back in on Wednesday 29th, after the bank holidays, and so you will receive a reply from them then. Apologies that it won't be sooner, but if you have any immediate concerns then of course do give the doctor or hospital a call if you can.
Wishing you all the best,
Ben

Hello
I am sorry to hear about your partner needing radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment and that he is currently unwell with sickness and diarrhoea.
Sorry for the delay in getting back but hope you have managed to speak to another health care professional if needed.
I hope he is starting to feel a bit better now. If not there could be many reasons for this including infection if his blood counts are low. Just to be on the safe side it is worth giving the chemo unit or specialist nurse a call to let them know and see if they can also offer some advice.
It is important your partner keeps drinking sips of water or squash to make sure he doesn't become dehydrated and if he can try some dry food such as crackers or toast that may help. If the sickness is because of the treatment itself then often anti-sickness medications and diarrhoea tablets can be taken that may be helpful. However if it is caused by an infection then it is matter of sitting it out.
If things worsen and he is struggling to keep anything down then do call NHS 111 for advice in case he needs to be admitted to hospital for IV fluids.
I do hope he improves soon.
Take care
Naomi
