Hoarse voice

Hi, looking for some advise as I feel like I'm going crazy.

I became ill with a flu type symptom in October. Not covid as I tested regularly and still so. During this I became hoarse and struggled with my voice. A few weeks later my left ear became painful and now feels echoey all the time. I am also exhausted all the time and wheezing.

After antibiotics and steroids, nothing changed so was referred to ENT who sent me for a CT scan 2 days before Xmas.

I'm now waiting and I was wo dering, can i call thehospital and ask if they saw anything untoward? Just to put my mind at ease?

Has anyone else suffered through this?

Thanks

JJ

  • Hello JJ and thanks for posting

I am sorry to hear about the symptoms you are suffering with and appreciate they must be a worry.

It is good to hear you are having some tests to find out more and hopefully you will hear about the results soon.

Unfortunately all scans need to be read and reported by a radiologist and this can take time. Even when a scan is urgent it will often take 2 weeks but at this time of year with bank holidays as well there may be a further delay.

Sit tight for now and remember there could be a range of reasons other than cancer so try not to over think things too much. Keeping busy and your mind on other things can be helpful at times like this.

I hope you know more soon and everything works out okay for you.

    Take care

    Naomi
