My littlest toe nail is been black for more than a year

Hi 

Need advice my little toe is black for more than a year.never took it serious but now recently wanted to have a look and found out online it could be fungal infection, trauma or skin cancer. I will be ringing gp tomorrow to speak about this .but I feel really scared as I feel, as I have left for so long, what if its something serious and have spread in my body.any advice please.

    While I can appreciate that your toe is worrying please remember that a melanoma (a type of skin cancer) is uncommon and with most cases of symptoms like yours it will not be caused by it.

    I am afraid that it is not possible for anyone here to tell you what is the matter but you have done the right thing in going to make a GP appointment to get this sorted out. 

    I hope you know more soon and that you will be okay.
