I'm sorry to hear about your mum - it can be really hard waiting for an appointment and tests to start.

You can try calling the appointments desk at the hospital to see if there is a cancellations list, but as it's coming up to the holidays it may end up still being in January. Although it's horrid just waiting, from a clinical point of view another 2 weeks should not make a difference to an outcome though it must be very hard on your mum.

If her symptoms get worse or she becomes dehydrated(it's important she keeps drinking) you will need to call 111 if her GP is closed.

I hope she can get the tests soon
