Hello I have a golf ball sized lump in my left armpit. I have noticed this for a few months I have ignored it but I think I need to check this or am I being paranoid? I would welcome some advice. Many thanks A

Lumps can be caused by various reasons, such as a local skin infection, blocked hair follicle, or a blocked or inflamed lymph gland (lymph node). Sometimes a lymph node comes up in response to a recent bacterial or viral infection elsewhere in the body even when a person feels well. They tend to go down or disappear after several weeks.
