Evening, 

My first breast clinic appt was about 2 hours long. It would have been a little bit longer if I'd my biopsy on the same day 

I saw the clinical nurse specialist first who did an initial exam, and marked the lump with a cross. I then went through and had a mammogram as I'm 44. I then had an ultrasound which actually revealed 2 additional lumps in my breast and one in the lymph node and that took about 2 hours.

When I went back for my core needle biopsy I was there for about an hour.

Mine said to allow 3 hours but average is 1.5 hours. I was told I had cancer at the last one so was very glad to have husband waiting for me.

The appointment can take up to several hours if they want to do further tests whilst you are there.

My wife was there for 5 and a half hours, and she was supposedly seen quickly.  She had her initial appointment with the breast doctor, sent for a mammogram, had a US, sent for a more detailed mammogram, back to the US for biopsies and a 3rd more powerful mammogram.

Most folk say between an hour to 3 hours.  It all just depends on the tests you need done.

Wowsers thanks sure gp said due to being under 40 mammogram is pointless so will just have an ultrasound, so hopefully won't be too long trying to get him to stay home lol
