Hi and thanks for the post
I can appreciate it's a worrying time and I hope your husband is making a good recovery after his surgery.
Basically, P stands for pathology in as what type of cancer it is, T stands for tumour and how deeply the cancer may have grown in the tissues around his gallbladder and N for nodes. So a T3 tumour means that the cancer has grown into the wall of the gallbladder and possibly into his liver, and N1 means that 1-3 lymph nodes in the surrounding areas have shown to have some cancer cells.
No one can say what this will mean for him , as everyone has a different response to their treatment and cancer. It's best to go through this report with the specialist or nurse who have all his medical details, so that you are both clear about what the result may mean for him.
There is some more information here about staging in gallbladder cancer
If you would like to go over any of this, please do give us a call on Freephone Mon - Fri 9-5pm
All the best to you both
