Article Reporting Content and making a complaint 

Reporting Content:  
If you wish to report content (including anything you are concerned is inappropriate, illegal or harmful), or, make a complaint regarding a post or private message (i.e. that you think it is objectionable or in breach these terms and conditions) then please contact us using the 'Flag to a moderator' link which is on every forum post, or you can alert us to another member’s behaviour by using the 'Flag to a moderator' link on every member profile page.  We will respond within 24-48 hours to advise you of what action we have taken. You can also contact us by email cancerchat@cancer.org.uk 
 
Making a complaint: 
If you wish to make a complaint about anything Cancer Chat related, you can do by emailing cancerchat@cancer.org.uk and we will respond to your complaint within 24-48 hours   
 
If you have a complaint about Cancer Research UK in regards to any other aspect of our work not related to Cancer Chat  you can find out how to do that on our website https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/about-us/contact-us/your-complaints.    

If a complaint is made against you as a result of any material you post or private message, we reserve the right to suspend or close your account and only reinstate it if the complaint is resolved in your favour.   

We reserve the right to view in its entirety any private conversation where a complaint has been made to a moderator for a breach of these terms and conditions or our community guidelines.  

How to appeal: 
Most people who make a complaint to us feel happy that we have resolved it with them. However, if you are not satisfied with our response to your complaint, let us know and we will pass your complaint to a more senior member of staff who will try to help 

For complaints about content that appears on our online platform or content that has been removed because we believe it is illegal or not compatible with our terms and conditions you can submit an appeal to us by emailing cancerchat@cancer.org.uk. Please provide any other relevant information which may help our investigation. Your appeal will be reviewed by a senior CRUK staff member and we will aim to email you with our decision on your appeal within 5 working days or let you know if this is likely to take longer. If after this time, you remain unhappy with our decision, you can contact OFCOM for an independent review via their website at www.ofcom.org.uk/make-a-complaint or by post PO Box 1285, Warrington, WA1 9GL or by phone 0300 123 3333.
