My husband has had blood in his stool on and off for a while.
About 2 years ago we thought it related to red meat and alcohol, so we switched to a vegetarian diet and it settled down. He had had a colonoscopy between 4-7 years ago, we genuinely can't remember when it was as it was mixed up with the leukemia treatment he was undergoing at the time! All we can remember is there was a polyp.
He has now admitted to me that the blood has reappeared and possibly for a while. He did a FIT test which was positive and was referred for an urgent colonoscopy, which is scheduled for Tuesday.
I'm beside myself. I can't eat, I don't want to get out of bed and I'm teary all the time. We spent 7 years battling leukemia and I don't think I can do it all again.
No idea what I want to gain from this, it's just cathartic to write it down.
