Waiting for mri results

Hi I had an mri scan 2 weeks ago and have been really anxious about the results (tonsil lump)

I rang the secretary yesterday to be told the scan is back and the first available appointment she can give me is in 3 weeks time..

Initially I thought this sounded like good news as they wern't rushing me back but on overthinking it I'm now wondering has the scan even been looked at yet or is it just back ready to be looked at?

Will someone have read it before it went back to my consultant and flagged up anything sinister..

Any thoughts.

Thank you

    Hi Kodi,

I'm sure that this is not the news that you wanted to hear, but this probably explains why you are feeling as you do. There are a number of different problems that can affect the liver and not all are cancerous. Part of my liver has fibrosed, as a result of the medication I've been taking for my breast cancer. I have a Fibroscan every year to see that it's not getting any worse.

Your care team or even your GP, can prescribe a cream or tablets to stop the itch and you can get medication to stop the sick feeling. Don't be afraid to ask for these.

You will naturally be worried and I only wish that I could give you reassurance that everything will be alright. Sadly, I don't have a crystal ball. It's good news that you will be getting your MRI soon and, hopefully this will give you a better idea of what the problem is. Don't forget that we are all here for you in the meantime.

You are one strong lady to be able to keep this from your family at the moment and you will get through this.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Thankyou .
ive been prescribed cream and double strength lanzaroprazole for 2 months and then normal does .
She said they're not hundred percent sure yet but I had an abdo scan before a gall bladder op a year ago last  January and it's all changed since then , hence the urgent mri .
It's not cysts she said .
She was lovely with me on the phone .

    Hi Kodi,

I'm glad to hear that you have had some medication presribed to help you out. Have you got a date for your MRI yet?

If cysts have been ruled out, here's hoping that it's still less serious than you're expecting. We all seem to expect the worst at this stage, but fortunately, this doesn't always happen.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
