Slight dip in breast

hi all,

I have noticed a slight dip in my right breast not in the nipple area but above the nipple on the breast I have seen my gp and been referred to the breast clinic on Thursday, tonight I have also noticed that there is a vein that is quite prominent has anyone else had similar experiences and does anyone else who is wait to attend the clinic constantly check to see if symptoms have suddenly disappeared obviously wishful thinking.

Any honest opinions or experiences would be very welcome.

  • Hi Owen73,

Firstly I'm so sorry you're facing this anxious time! I know how worrying it can be and you feel like your entire life is on hold until you get the answers!

I noticed a dimple in my right breast just above the nipple back at the end of June. I ended up being given a two week urgent referral to a clinic where an ultrasound detected a tiny lump and I had a biopsy done that day. I ended up having a second biopsy a few weeks later, followed by lumpectomy surgery but thankfully I was discharged with a diagnosis of desmoid type fibromatosis.

I completely understand the need to continuously check! I did the same and did nothing but convince myself it was getting worse. It took 16 weeks of tests for me to be given the all clear and the anxiety is awful so I really do sympathise. But my case is proof that it's not always bad news! I know it's difficult but try to stay positive and know that whatever happens you're making the right steps forward!

Will be keeping everything crossed for you! X

  • Hi,

I'm so pleased to hear that you had a positive outcome, I'm trying to stay positive and it certainly helps to hear that there are potentially other explanations for the changes.
I really appreciate you taking the time to reply.

    Thank you xx
