Blood in stool

Hi, just looking for some advice or to off load my worries.

Everything started about 4 months ago when I had a really bad pain in my right side and my bowels started slowing down and things changed as in looser stools etc. I also wasn't also having the feeling to go the toilet or didn't feel like I had emptied fully.

I went the GP who did blood tests and stool sample twice over a month or so period. All normal. He gave me some fybergel and told me to increase fyber. Things improved.

Mixed with all this I have been suffering with lower back pain, siaticia, upper neck pain and wrist pain. Also so weird hot feeling in my feet which doctor has referred me to a neurologist and joint health place locally.

In the last 2 days when constipated iv had pink mucus around my stools but not if my stools are loose. Im now paranoid that this lower back pain isn't back pain and is connected to my bowel issue.

I have been sleeping bad and I cant tell if its anxiety that makes me get really hot and wake up or another symptom. Im constantly shattered to the point it isn't normal and look knackered.

I'm worried it's cancer and its all im thinking about. Ringing the doctors again today and try push for a colonoscopy.

  • I will of course!
My anxiety was very bad the last few months to the point where my quality for life was as it's complete lowest. I decided a few weeks back to take back control over my life and my health anxiety. I went to my gp and told them I wasn't coping and I now attend fortnightly rewind sessions with him. I also started filling my days off from work with things I love to keep me busy like painting and going for walks in the woods at the back of my house. And most importantly: STAYING OFF Dr. GOOGLE.  I know they all sound like very minor things but it has really made all this more endurable.

Keep telling yourself that you will eventually get the colonoscopy done and what you do between now and then isn't going to change the results so you might as well squeeze as much enjoyment out of daily life as possible!

Wishing you the very best and I'll be sure to keep you updated

  • [@Scared_Mummy]‍ i have had bloods and two stool samples.  All have come back fine.  I have been referred to the gastro department- waiting on appointment. Considering trying to go private as I think it will be a very long waiting list - and Covid will delay it even more!
