Tongue Biopsy

I've just had a tongue Biopsy this afternoon - would be so grateful for any tips on how long it takes to heal, how to cope with the wait for results. Had an ulcer that wouldn't heal on the side of my tongue, noticed by my dentist. I'm a supply teacher, so can't afford to take any time off as I won't get paid - but talking is quite challenging! Grateful thanks in advance for any advice.

  • Hi

yeah it was maxillo clinic but I think because i haven't been there and bring a hospital I didn't expect the dentist chair lol was glad it didn't have the dentist smell, I have to wait out side if I go the dentist because the smell makes the fear worse. dentist said didn't have any sharp teeth but I think the results will be benign.dont seem to have much other symptoms just a feeling like food gets stuck in chest but prob not related.

I can't imagine what went through you mind when you woke up and the doctor told you they had to take more.
it must of been so scary.
did you have to have a peg ?

    hope your ok now x

  • Hi

To be honest I was so drugged I never took in much that was said.

No I had NG tube. And was so pleased when it was taken out.

I have to find s new dentist as Ive moved areas not looking forward to that,Im not a fan of dentists nowadays.

Have you mentioned to Dr about the feeling like stuck food? If not then you really should, best to get her take on that.

Yes Im fine but having the hassle of finding Gp with open list for new patients and Im well overdue hospital check up too. I used to have a long trip including a ferry to go for check ups very wearing I can tell you.Getting told yesterday that I can still drive for now anyway was a huge relief Ive been dreading the tests for ages.

Thats the best mind set you can have that it will be benign. I always say its not cancer till they say it is!!

Take care and keep busy xx

  • Hi :)

sounds like you had a big trek to get to see the doctor

Can see why your not a fan either of dentist either

that must of been hard having the NG tube, your so brave you really are.

Have you tried  the nhs website, it can search to find gp practice in the local area or maybe 111 could help you out if you don't get any joy finding a practice

I haven't mentioned  to the doctor about it  if am honest just thought maybe reflux  making it feel like that so I bought some tabs esomeprozole and been taking that but hasn't changed anything, might mention it on Monday when I go. Don't have to go till late afternoon so will do something with the boys until I have to go( off school next week) they will keep my mind off it

    good night god bless
