Try not to worry in advance if you can. I worrird terribly and suffered more than I needed to. My mri results were inconclusive as to whether the lumps were benign or not so I had a biopsy in hospital as day case.  The surgeon told me on the day that she didn't think it had looked worrying but she'd write once biopsy finished. I heard nothing for weeks so finally rang them to find a letter had been sent weeks ago saying nothing sinister found!   So after 3 months of worry I was ok! 
I would say that don't wait like I did if you don't hear from hospital or doctor.  If I'd ring the surgeons secretary earlier I would have saved myself weeks of stress.
