Hi there, not sure what gender you are but I've had a lump in my groin for ages, it's been diagnosed  as a ganglion which is a swelling containing fluid and it gets bigger and aches when I've been on my feet a lot.  It's not long until your ultrasound so keep busy, stop worrying, it gets you precisely nowhere!!  Good luck,  Carol

Been for my ultrasound today. It's my lymph nodes, I really hoped it would be a cyst. The doctor told me the pain I feel can't be my lymph nodes, which really all annoyed me. I can guarantee it is the swollen area that hurts. She said to leave it unless it gets bigger. The reason I was there was because it had grown in size. Anyway I'm going back to my doctor for a referral to Bupa. I'm not confident an ultrasound alone can tell me it's a benign lump.

hope the scans went well. Did you get a diagnosis? I had a similar pain on the left side of the groin and the ultra sound came through as swollen lymph nodes. There still is a constant pain (not a sharp pain) and now been referred for more blood tests. The GP was not sure of what to suggest!

Just wanted to say that if in doubt, always get groin lumps and/ or pains looked at and taken seriously. Most often it's nothing but in my case it was the only symptom of my lymphoma and even a heamatology specialist didn't think anything of it at first!

Don't say this to scare you, I just think sometimes doctors don't quite put two and two together when it's isolated symptoms such as groin lumps on their own, or fevers on their own etc.

Morning. 

It's still on going at the moment. Ive had bloods and urine samples done twice now. I'm back again on the 30th, I'm hoping the gp will then refer me to heamatolagy through Bupa like I've asked. She is now taking me seriously though. I love that we have the NHS but it's been such a slow process. 

Please keep at them. My GP wasbt going to take it any further than an ultrasound. I told them I have swollen lymph nodes and I need to know why.

Hello. Was this picked up on a ultrasound? ... i had a scan done at my doctors, they assume swollen lymph nodes.  But dont know why. So ive got to have the lump removed.  And sent for biospy.
