Hi there,I was at the hospital yesterday and I am awaiting biopsy results. When you had your mammogram,ultrasound and biopsy done did you see the doctor bc nurse and consultant afterwards? I am out of my mind with worry. The bc nurse gave a 4 week sick note too. The doctor initially thought it was a cyst but mammogram and ultrasound confirmed it was a lump. How did your visit go there,so glad you got good news xx

I’m so sorry that you’re going through this it’s awful and I think we all automatically think it’s going to be the worst. After the mammogram, scan and biopsy I was taken into the family room with the doctor and bcn and told it didn’t look good as the lump was very concerning but they wouldn’t know until the biopsy results came back. I was in tears convinced they were trying to tell me it was cancer and after the doctor left the room the bcn stayed with me for any questions.

Looking back this may be standard procedure when they can’t give you the all clear but it is very scary. I found the waiting the hardest part, convincing myself of terrible things and feeling in total limbo unable to think about anything else. Can you remember what they said to you and how long before results? There’s lots of lovely ladies on here that have come through the worst results and you will get lots of great advice.

Thanks for replying Sazcop, I will let you know how I get on. Can anyone help me here,I had lymph node biopsy too,why did they do that,was something seen in scan? This is all freaking me out,I was too shocked to ask questions yesterday,and too scared to call nurse today.

All  the tests are done including lymph node biopsy to give the doctors the best possible picture of what is going on. Take comfort from the knowledge that they are being very thorough. The waiting is the hard part and you will feel better once you know exactly what you are dealing with. We are here to support you too. It's normal to feel scared!
