Endometrial polyps advice

Hi everyone!! I feel terrible writing on this forum because I haven't had a diagnoses..but please if anyone has similar symptoms please give me advice

I had my daughter 18 months ago and ever since very heavy bleeding. Of course I went to the doctor was put on tranxamic acid and the pill, months and months went on and there had been no improvement, my periods are incredibly irregular.

Last 2 weeks and only be off for 1 week then I will be back on again.. so 3 months ago I was referred to gynaecologist, she had a look at my cervix and did a biopsy.. all looked fine and biopsy fine. Then 3 weeks later I had a ultrasound scan done, scan showed 2 bright white spots on the lining of my womb, unsure wether this was because of the biopsy they asked me to have another scan 3 months later, since the first scan I have had bleeding with very large clots but they still no sign of being regular. Had my scan done today and the sonographer  found 3 more white spots some 1 to 2 cm other 2 to 3 cm so they found 5 altogether now, 1 of them has a blood supply flowing through it. She also mentioned that the lining of my womb was very thick and that I have a lot of discharge, she said this is usually seen in somebody who is about to have a period, I finished 2 days ago. I've now got to wait for appointment to come through to have a operation to remove this spots, polyps was mentioned but she was not 100 percent. Then they will do another biopsy on them.. wouldn't the previous biopsy show up cancerous? Why do another? I'm 27 years old with 2 children both terrible labour's. Please if anyone has had this can you speak to me x

  • Hi rose3720,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I noticed your post and just wanted to send you a reply as you asked a question about what to do. If you were told you'd hear something within four weeks and it's been a lot longer than that, you can always call the hospital to check - or your doctor.

    All the best,

  • Hi, sorry to jump in on your thread.. my problems are slightly different to others I've read.  I was 35 when I was told I had to change my pill to cerezette which I wasn't happy about at the time, however I haven't had a period for the 4 plus years I've taken it.

I started to notice I was getting bleeding after sex so went to the doctors for advice they booked me in for general swabs and a smear test.

my swabs came back all clear but my smear was positive.  I was referred to the gynaecologist who had a look and burnt some cells there and then.

They then sent me for the transvaginal scan where they said they could see a mass and  said they thought it was more than likely a pylop but could say.. I seen the gynaecologist again and she said I needed a hysteroscopy.. however when I was in having it they couldn't go into my uterus as the "lump" was blocking the way.. they took swabs again and told me that my cervix didn't look normal so they were sending me for a biopsy on my cervix and then booking me in for general anesthetiser to properly look in my uterus.. probably remove that lump and anything else they might find and that a biopsy would be taken then aswell..

however my general health is not good and whist this was going on I got prescribed a nasal spray as I had sinusitis so the doctor prescribed me a antibiotic nasal spray I used it that night and woke up in the morning with massive blisters inside my nose!! (Sorry going of course slightly but it will explain my anxiety)

I had to do ask my gp and sent pictures of my nose! Turns out they gave me a penacillin spray.  IM ALLERGIC TO PENICILLIN!!  So should not have been given it but the long and short the blisters turned into like ulsers and burnt a hole straight through the middle of my nose!
it was so so painful like having a lighter lit up my nose!! Anyway I had to go to ent they said that it didn't look right so done a biopsy and it came back saying I've got an immune system disorder! But don't know which one!!
the day I had the biopsy they were meant to give me a numbing spray I had to wait 3 days for the chemist to get it and again.. sprayed it up my nose before but.. I woke up early morning in agony!! It was like I'd swallowed razor blades and my nose was on fire!!
I demanded that the doctor seen me! Turned out the prescribed me the wrong numbing spray!! It was for perennial problems!!
so it basically burnt my nose and throat!! I even had a message in my ask my gp with the doctor asking another doctor why I got prescribed the wrong spray!!

anyway back to the original problem I was booked in to go to a pre op 2 days after my nose biopsy but because of all the complications I didn't attend.. I missed the pre ops and gynaecology sent me a letter saying I know it's a difficult time but please come in..

They then wrote to my doctors and sent me an email of what they had said..

They said I had not attended the pre ops! Normally we would discharge her (me) but could you try to contact her to get her in..

which sent my anxiety through the roof!!

my body has started changing I've been lactating from both breasts and my stomach is tender to touch!

the long and short is I'm worried it's bad as how the smear was positive plus they have sent me a letter for another one!! And the immune system disorder is apparently attacking my own body so the won't fix my nose until the find out which one it is abd im worried that if I have any removal etc my body might attack that and I'll end up with something worse!!

I broke my leg July 2019 and it's still not healed

any advise or anything I'd appreciate

    thabks

  • Hi just to update everyone on what happened after my post. I’ve read it back and can see how scared and panicked i was I received the gynaecologist referral pretty quickly, I actually had the option of two places so chose a private clinic as it had the shortest waiting time. I had an initial video consultation with my gynaecologist who then booked me in for a hysteroacopy. He confirmed I had an abnormal thickening of the uterus lining but fibroids not polyps as the first scan had suggested. He took biopsies and booked me in for a uterus abolition. All the results came back negative which was a huge relief. An although the dr thinking it was likely cancer was scary it probably meant I was seen so much quicker. I had to rearrange the abolition twice as my periods had become so irregular and even heavier. I had the procedure done in September, other than feeling absolutely horrendous because of the anaesthetic I actually felt fine for about 2 days after. Then the pain started the only way I can describe it was back to back contractions, I’ve never felt pain like it and I’ve had 3 children. The hospital gave me codeine, which helped and the pain past after a hour or two but it was agony. I bleed after the procedure then had a week break before my period started which lasted 2 and a half weeks. The gynaecologist did say that the next two periods could be significantly heavier but things should improved after that. My next period is two weeks late so I have know idea yet if the abolition helped. My second lot of biopsies we’re all negative so definitely no cancer. I have my next consultation by telephone in December to see how things are going.
