Worried about throat cancer and i have bad Anxiety

here goes. I had a cough for 3 days which went away, but i have pain under my jaw where the 2 large glands are with earache, ive spoken to 5 different doctors, 3 said its a viral infection, 1 doctor gave me antibiotics and the last doctor gave me a swab test which came back negative. Its been 2 weeks and 3 days since ive been experiencing these symptoms, last week i had 0 pain for 2 days but then a coughed really hard and it all came back again. at times i have no pain then it starts hurting hours later. They have checked my throat over and over again and my ears and its all clear with no sign of infection and no lumps around my neck area. at this moment i hardly have any pain and a slight earache. Sometimes the pain radiates side to side. I have no problem swollowing, no change in voice, no swelling of tonsills or the outside of my throat. It hurts when a yawn.

And going crazy

  • Hello

I see you have written this question to another member but I thought I would get back to you because it has been a few months since this thread was last active and it seems you are really worried.

I'm afraid no one on the forum is able to diagnose you or tell you what the matter is and comparing your situation to others is unlikely to be all that helpful to you. It appears you have posted quite a few times over the past couple of months and are really anxious that something serious could be the matter.

The best thing you can do is to speak to your doctor again. It doesn't sound like they are too concerned but if symptoms are ongoing they may be able to arrange some further tests to put your mind at ease, so do talk to them when you get a chance.

Looking at another of you recent posts you told us you recently started a new medication and hopefully these will kick in soon and will help you to feel better about things. Be patient though, it can take a good couple of weeks to get into your system. In the meantime try and avoid looking things up online as this will make you worry more, instead try and keep yourself busy and your mind on other things. AnxietyUK here and MindUK here also have some good information and advice to help you manage your thoughts and feelings about your health.

    Take care
