Cervix polyp removed

Hi

2 weeks as of yesterday I had a polyp removed from my cervix due to bleeding for nearly 2 weeks at a time sent for biopsy. I had a blood transfusion as lost a lot of blood. Still suffering with abdominal pain so went to see my GP yesterday he asked if I had a follow up app I said no, he looked on his screen and saw I do have a follow up app this Tues,  just over 2 weeks of having it done. Feeling scared.

  • no I’ve got too wait for an a appointment sorry didn’t word that well have u had one removed

  • nope never have only one cervix small one found by smear as said my nurse who did smear and gp don't bother at all . Even if want to get it removed always get told as long mo problems its fine sometimes goes away on its own. but have it for years now and worried but i will try for homeremedies now and see if goes away on its own and if not will definitely go again and have it removed. I know a few who had it removed and said there twisted around nothing sinister only takes few min and not painful . x

  • Hi hope it all goes well for you I had 6x polyps size of golf balls removed almost a year ago my scar hasn't fully healed up I was ment to have a following up after the op but nhs and hospital messed me around so much to the stream of point where mine came back really fast and I have the same amount back again I'm bleeding pretty much everyday pain every day which is worster with the second load now they only got there bum into gear where I have another scan and biopsy next week again then they will sort for another operation but I was told after the second load either way I can still get them back which my scars isn't healing so it's doing more damage then good they have explain fobbing me of I can't have my womb removed as with my womb I'm constantly having problems and they say I'm to young I'm 24 years old etc and there are risks of having it removed but it's like I'm trying to argue my point of view they are making more work for them and it's costing them more money but the main fact out of it is that it's doing my body more damage and I was close of dying and close of cancer if it wasn't for my partner I wouldn't of had first operation and I wouldn't of been here etc neglected from NHS stuffed up with a lot of tablets I can explain more if you want as I've went through it all and going through it all over and over again plz keep me updated with your news and also have you got any medication terms that they have used to describe your symptoms

  • Hi

I'm new here and this is my first post

I was reading through and wanted to respond to your question ivonne1976

I had an episode of post menopausal bleeding last week and reported it to my GP and due to COVID was seen at my local hospital clinic within 2 days, seems lots of women are not attending these clinics : (

I attended the clinic last Friday where a TVU scan was done followed by a cervical inspection using a speculum at which point a polyp was discovered on my cervix, not sure if it was there at my smear in March and not mentioned or whether its relatively new, anyway it was removed there and then and honestly I felt no pain at all,  just a bit of non painless pulling, I had minimal bleeding afterwards it had fully stopped by Saturday morning and no pain.

The polyp is being tested so I am awaiting these results but just wanted to reassure you the procedure for me was painless and over very quickly and I hope it proves the same for you.

  • Hi. My gp found a polyp on my cervix yesterday , similar symptoms to you. Pelvic pain and bladder problems., but I'm on the pill so only occasional spotting. Bloated too. Did your bloating and pain go after removal? I hope you are well now.
