Retracted Nipple

Hi,

Im looking for some advice as I don’t know if it’s something to worry about tbh

im 59 yrs old, post menopausal and on HRT

4 weeks ago I noticed my left nipple was retracted, no lumps detected or rash but areole and nipple a lot lighter than my right one . When I take my bra off , the nipple will protrude slightly when cold but will retract again. I get the occasional discomfort, stabbing type sensation and sharp pain but not all the time. I’ve thoroughly examined myself and can’t detect any lumps

I’ve read that with age this can happen but I’m more concerned as it’s just the one nipple.

Should I go to GP

  • Hi CDev,

A very warm welcome to the forum.

We are always advised to get any changes we notice in our breasts investigated. Hopefully this will turn out to be nothing untoward, but please contact your GP and get it checked out. Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
