Here we go again - has anyone else had a raised ca125 whilst taking Tamoxifen? I have a telephone appointment with gynaecology next week

Bit of back story, diagnosed with follicular carcinoma thyroid cancer 2005, total thyroidectomy and radioactive iodine treatment.  On to 2023 diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma stage 2 breast cancer, three tumours in left breast, lumpectomy followed by radiation treatment, yearly mri and mammogram and tamoxifen for 5 years.  October 2024 stomach bloating and bowel problems, colonoscopy all good so ultrasound on pelvis.  This showed endometrial thickening of 15mm so urgent referral to gynaecology.  Hysteroscopy showed all normal apart from the thickening, they think tamoxifen has caused it, so discharged.  Present time, still bloated and uncomfortable so back to doctors,  blood tests done for celiac, ibs and ca125 for ovarian problems.  Normal results except ca125 elevated so urgent referral again to gynaecology.  Just had a call to say I've got a telephone appointment with gynaecology next week, anyone else have problems with raised ca125 on tamoxifen? 

  • I'm sorry to hear about everything you have been through Mum7019 and for the worry your elevated ca125 levels are currently causing.

    We have quite a lot of posts about raised ca125 levels on the forum so hopefully our members who have experienced this whilst taking Tamoxifen will stop by soon to share their experiences and advice.
