Kidney biopsy on Tuesday and I'm scared

Hi everyone

I'm having a kidney biopsy on Tuesday and am really scared. I've read all the Macmillan and nhs information on it, but it's all so matter of fact. I would really like to hear your personal experiences eg did you have sedation, any discomfort during, what to expect afterwards, bruising, pain and once back home, when can I expect to get back to normal activities and exercise....I'm going to miss my zumba and aqua classes!

I think I am more scared of the numbing injections as I know through experience that they hurt :-(

Thank you x

  • Hi I’m so sorry getting back to you so late I have been feeling dreadful,my condition is neoplasm of the renal pelvis .I’m so happy all has been going well for you and may it continue, sounds very po itive. My consultant said he wanted to pit a camera in pup uterus into the kidney as it’s showing on the urology Ct scan tumours in left side and a blockage in the urethrer,he tried to do the procedu e for near on three hours but couldn’t get into the kidney due to the urethrer blockage so he has put a stent in.Mine doesn’t sound good at all,as it seems like it’s busted out as they have letme do n since 2020 when i was back and forth paying  even private ,now if this is the situation he said he could only do a tumour ablastion but needs to check it’s not spread to my lungs I’m so scared ann ther 4 weeks to wait as out stent to  and open urethrer but I can’t eat literally and it’s not stress I’m justnauseas  the whole time ,hrs concerned my white cell count is extra high and wished it w s due to an infection but it’s not,I’m in a minefield and getting iller by the day ,I can’t leave my elderly parents and my little dog .So happy you have shared such great news ️
