Lymphoma?

Hi

Im 27, a couple of weeks ago I got a random lump in my neck (side of left neck), been to drs and had an ecg (which was normal) and blood tests (get the results of them in a couple of days).

Yesterday I noticed two other small lumps next to it, I'm panicking it's more then just a swollen a lymph node that will eventually go away.. iv had two very minor nose bleeds which it's very usual for me, iv never had a nose bleed before. Iv lost 16lb in 3 and half months without changing eating habits or lifestyle, a couple of days ago I felt very shivery like I was coming down with something but that was the only symptom apart from tiredness.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced these symptoms and what was the outcome?

Thank you x

  • Aww so sorry nicola to hear that, I hope you're okay, even though they expected it, you still must be in shock, is your thyroid at the front of the neck? Did you get any lumps there? Did they do a blood test for thyroid? Sorry for the questions please don't feel like you have to answer any of them, sending so many wishes for a full healthy recovery x

  • It's like I'm more calmer now I know I had no lumps at the front whatsoever only the side of my neck but then they said that's swollen lymph nodes coming from my thyroid I don't know much more yet hoping I get in quick to sit down and speak to someone , please don't worry yourself your getting it checked out and I very nearlly didn't so I'm glad I did most lumps are absolutely nothing my health was terrible all last year high blood pressure etc just felt terrible but doctors where dismissing it as bloods showed I wasent fighting any virus and thyroid bloods where fine but please don't stress yourself it's the stressing that's the worse bit x

  • Hi,

I had something very similar and around the same age as you. Found a lump in my neck last September. Countless GP visits later I finally had an ultrasound a couple of weeks ago after pushing and they said nothing to worry about sometimes nodes are reactive and never go down.

I would go to the GP and ask for a scan. You know your own body and make sure you push for it.

Hope youre okay I know how worrying it is

  • Hi, saw a nurse practitioner today, she confirmed again all bloods came back okay apart from 1 was too low (b12) but she said she doesn't think that has caused lumps in my neck.. she just said your lymph nodes are swollen probably because of an infection but my bloods didn't show any sign of an infection so don't no why she said that. She said if they are still there in a couple weeks make another appointment

Just a pain because I'm none of the wiser really

Thank you for answering my questions x

  • Hi been to the drs today,

They just want to leave it and make another appointment if they are still there in a couple of weeks. I do wish they just did an ultrasound for piece of mind x

  • Aww that's good news they told me lymph nodes can be swollen for up to a year after infection so don't stress yourself they told me this on my first visit I had loads of other stuff going on which now all fits in and makes sense don't worry about them you will prob find they will just go away on there own and the good thing is you have got them checked out x

  • Hi [@ellie2150]‍ , what was your diagnosis? I am having the same symptoms.
