Rare Tongue Cancer

Hi just got the news, I have a very rare tumour at the very back of my tongue that's not operable due to its location. I'm waiting on MRI and PET Scan appointments. Radiotherapy and maybe chemotherapy has been mentioned. Has anyone this rare tongue cancer......

  • Hi Hazel,

Good to hear from you again and great to hear your now 4 years post radiotherapy and all is well with you.

I went out to M&S today to replace my wardrobe which is something I should have done months ago because as my continuous weight loss has meant all my clothes are far too big for me, so from XL shirts and 42 inch waist I've now spent a fortune on medium size shirts and 36 inch trousers!

Got a call today from the hospital saying that recent blood tests show I may have an over active thyroid which may be causing my continuing weight loss.

Lack of saliva is a pain but as you say the thought of future improvements makes it bearable.

Once again glad to hear from you Hazel and happy all is fine with you.

    Best wishes.

    Peter.
