Thickening endometrial

Hi I went for a trans vaginal scan and they picked up thickening of the womb today. They wanted to do Biopsy and hysteroscopy which I wanted under a GA so have about 2 week wait.Has anyone else experienced this I have bad stomach cramps and was sure I had ovarian cancer can anyone help or advise what this means please?Going out of my mind with stress and anxiety.

  • I got my results from hysterscopy 10 days after, hopefully yours will be ok xx feel free to message me with results I’m no expert but can help by listening, I was in a dark place even before I got my results,

  • Hi I didn't realise you had to wait for results of hysteroscopy?I thought the doctor told you straight away omg more worrying and waiting.I am going in this Wednesday for hysteroscopy, smear, endometrial biopsy and polypectomy absolutely terrified. How were your results?Thinking of you.

  • My doc that did my hysterscopy said he saw nothing out the ordinary so I thought was ok, 10 days later get appointment for clinic and was told was cancer and that would need a total hysterectomy, they said was stage 1a, after hysterectomy said 1a grade 2, but further tests still had me at 1a but moved me up to grade 3.

I now have to hv regular 3/6 month checks my first is in October. Is a scarey road to be on but am getting there.

  • Oh I thought the doctor told you there and then, hopefully your results will be good news.Keep us informed if you don't mind?

  • Omg sorry to read this fingers crossed it will be all ok.So many of us ladies going through this at the moment do you find your emotions are all over the place?I try and keep busy thinking I am doing well then just suddenly break down does anyone else feel like this?x

  • Was just checking to see how hysterscopy and results went for you x

  • I was terribly worried since I had an abnormal bleeding x 3 weeks and thicken endometrium (15). The doctor decided to do a biopsy and I was so scared waiting for the results. Luckily all the results came clear so wanted to send this message because the wait was horrible for me (almost a month to get my results and didnt stop bleeding) and I was reading this forum looking for positive outcome from someone in the same situation. Apparently the issue must have been a hormonal imbalance (I am 45, still not menopause just yet) so I would like to send this message out to all of you women in the same situation waiting for results, its so scary and always thinking the worst. Its really much better not to read much, it just makes you more anxious and doesnt help from my experience.  And most important: sometimes having thickened endometrium doesnt mean the worst! best of luck x

  • Glad to read this post, and you are ok   I've been called back after my initial scan on Thursday as the  womb thickness is above what it should be.  I have to go back for further scan and biopsy. I'm scared stiff it's cancer now, how did u find the biopsy was it painful, they have just said take paracetamol an hour before appointment

  • Hi Loulou, dont worry dear as it might be nothing as it happened to me. Nonetheless, when they take a biopsy cause of the thicken endometrium  it doesnt mean they are looking for the word "C", it could also be an hiperplasia, the doctors also told me. I didnt have pain when they performed the biopsy, its a bit uncomfortable but not painful (at least for me). Best of luck, am sure you will be fine, keep me posted dear and all the very best x
