Hi everyone,
I've recently received a diagnosis of stage 2 colon cancer. Surgeons removed 2 thirds of my colon and now I begin 6 months of Capecitabine Chemotherapy. Has anyone been through this, any advice would be appreciated. Thank you

Hi Bicho,
it's so lovely to hear from you
How are you getting on?
I hope you carried on tolerating the Chemo well
sadly I didn't and was taken off it after one round
I had bleeding chest and Abdominal pain
bloods weren't good Temperature etc ,..
I don't think it helped that I had the vaccine too at the same time
so I'm under strict surveillance
I had CT scan, ultrasound and MRI which were all ok
so how are you ..what's been going on,
all good
I hope? ️
Hi JayD....sorry to hear you had problems with the chemo but glad to hear your scan, CT and MRI were all ok and pray they stay that way.
I finished the course of 8 cycles of the chemo last Thursday, I did ok on it thankfully very little in way of side effects ( I had my vaccine, both of them while on it)
Friday week ago I had a CT scan as I had come to end of the chemo. I had to go to the hospital last Wednesday to get results....they weren't available!.
I have a telephone appointment with my surgeon this coming Wednesday so hopefully the results from the CT will be available for him to see and tell me and also what my follow up will be in relation to scans, bloods etc.
I hope you are feeling well JayD and continue to do so.
Big hug xx
So happy to hear treatment went well Bicho
and you had both vaccines, what one did you get ?
I had the AstraZeneca early Feb before there was any significant risk attached to it
I've been feeling ok, up and down Cancer is a lonely road
please keep me posted about your CT result
I'm sure it will be good news but we always worry
Good Luck
stay well and Safe
Hi JayD...I had the pzifer vaccine in early February then second dose in April. I was fortunate not to have side effects with it.
It is a strange and lonely journey as you say...you can go along feeling fine, then wee thoughts hit you and you don't like to talk about it.
I have this telephone appointment tomorrow with my surgeon and will let you know what he says.
Keep in touch JayD and I am here for you if you need to talk.
Take care and stay well my friend. X ️
That's great you had the Pfizer with no side effects Bicho
I wish I had that vaccine
Good luck for tomorrow
We'll definitely stay in touch my friend
I've kept my password in my notes now so I won't forget it
speak tomorrow
stay safe and well ️
Hi Jayd....had my telephone appointment with surgeon, he said oh I see you have a CT, yep I said are the results in. He said CT was there but no radiologist's report. He said it can take a while and hopefully it would be through in next few days, he would get his secretary to check. So no news....more waiting.
hope your feeling ok and getting on with things, take care Bicho xx
Oh no more waiting for you Bicho
