On the 15th October I found a lump in my right breast. Within a week I was at the hospital and had a scan and biopsy. A week later I was diagnosed with Grade 2 invasive ductal cancer. I had had a mammogram a year and half ago but that was all clear, so it was a shock. Yesterday I had MRI scan, was panicky at first, but told myself I just have to go through this. I know have the tortuous wait for the results from my surgeon on the 3rd Dec. Then I have the Sentinal node scan on the 5th December and surgery on the 6th. I assume the decision for lumpectomy or masectomy, sentinel node removal and treatment afterwards will be made on the 3rd? No matter how much I read, it seems everybodys experience is different. Wishing everybody going through this lots of love and best wishes. We have a lot to be thankful for the NHS, to dealing with this so quickly.
