Just been diagnosed with grade 2 breast cancer

Hi

I’ve literally just been diagnosed with grade 2 breast cancer.

So I did the 2ww for breast clinic then the 2ww for biopsy results now it’s confirmed I have to wait, for the mri before they decide which way my treatment will be.

the consultant said I would have chemo, radio, surgery and hormone treatment but they won’t know which order until after.

Im still in shock at the moment. I’m not really sure how I feel about it as I’m more worried about how the children and husband feel.

I have 4 children twin girls of 13 and two boys of 5 and 3. I have no idea how to tell my boys.

  • Hi Mrs G25

it went ok. They called me in yesterday and said they are starting with a lumpectomy and biopsy of 4 lymph nodes.

They said that it didn’t look like it had spread on the mri.

I got my diagnosis it is Grade 2 NST ER7 PR7 HER2 Positive. So chemo looks likely and radiation and hormone treatment.

I’m still waiting on my genetics test so may change to double mastectomy if that happens. But they have said if the genetics take to long we can do that after.

ive got to wait for my date for surgery they said it will be within the next 3-4 weeks

you should plan something for your birthday we all need things to look forward too.

  • Take it easy.

Have you any books you’d like to read or tvshows/movies you’d like to watch. Crochet/knitting?

I’ve got all my crochet stuff out. I haven’t had time to do any for the last few years but thinking I can do some while recovering.

  • Hi

its good that you have a diagnosis now and they are getting going with your plan.  How are you feeling about it all?

I am still waiting.  I did hear today that Her2 is negative and ct scan clear but mri showed another dodgy area which they want to ultrasound.  So I am waiting for that appointment  now so no diagnosis yet or treatment plan.   Hopefully when I get it, it will all move quickly.

hope your date for surgery comes through soon.  Stay strong xx
