Recently diagnosed with breast cancer

Hi everyone , I’m 44 recently diagnosed with Breast cancer DCIS and also hormone positive . Its in my lymph nodes aswell . Had CT , Bone Scan and MRI . I’m back on Tuesday to find out results . I’m freaked out having pain in the middle of my back and kept thinking it’s spread . Everyone says it’s stress . I’m fairly healthy never smoked . Just wondering has anyone any advice please . Xx

  • Hi wooly lamb

im so relieved had results from ct scan yesterday and no sign that it’s spread elsewhere apart from lymph nodes. Sobbed like a baby with relief as had convinced myself it was bad news. Masectomy and lymph node clearance on Monday so at least I feel like I’m actually doing something to try and get rid of this.

Hope your wound clears up well hun and good luck for Tuesday with your chemo x let me know how you get on but for now take care x

    Hi Mejules,

It's great news that there is no spread elsewhere from your CT scan yesterday.

I shall be thinking of you on Monday and hope that all goes well.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

    Hi BigJean,

I am sorry to hear that you weren't too good after your chemo last Friday. If you get a chance before your appointment with the oncologist tomorrow, write down the questions that you need answers to.

I haven't had radiation, so cannot answer your question, but this is one to ask your oncologist. There are several anti-nausea medicines, so they should be able to give you something more effective.

I know that it's hard, but hang on in there. How many chemo sessions are you due to have?

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

    Hi Woolylamb,

I am sorry to hear that you are having problems with your wound, but glad to hear that you are walking a bit better today. I hope that all heals up soon and that there will be no delay in starting your chemo.

You've certainly been lucky with the weather for resting in.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi jolamine

home now masectomy and lymph node clearance done. Apart from resembling an ironing board on one side I’m doing ok x joking apart I’m a tad tender and keep forgetting I’ve got a drain but got so I remember when I feel the pain haha they warned me that some ladies say they get a trickling feeling like water down the arm after lymph node clearance I’d say it’s more like an electric current! Luckily it’s only for a short spasms but boy it hurts. Back in two weeks to see my consultant x hope you are ok x

  • Hi WL

wishing you all the best today with the start of the chemo x

  • Hi bigjean

how are you doing? X hope you feel better after your first few days of chemo? X

  •

    Hi Mejules,

I am glad to hear that you have now got your mastectomy and lymph node clearance behind you. You're lucky that you only have one side like an ironing board. I had large breasts which were my pride and joy, but now I am as flat as a pancake all over the frontal area!

It's good to be home so quickly after surgery and, I hope that you don't need your drain for much longer.

Be good to yourself for the next couple of weeks!

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

    Hi Wollylamb,

I wonder whether or not you started your chemo today? I hope that your wound has healed sufficiently to allow this and that you are now on your way.

    Thinking of you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
