Lung Cancer

Just received news that I have lung cancer an am devastated, I had stage 111 breast cancer nine years.

  • Am just trying to get through Tuesday, at the moment I am coughing continually and not in a very good place to chat but I will be positive, as I haven't got transport will be looking at using taxi's when I can get out, thank you Alys
  • What time is your appointment Alys?  I can think of you while you are going in there and keeping everything crossed for you.

I am incurably nosey so I can ask whether your local authority runs any free or cheap transport schemes for pensioners/disabled people?  I live in South London where the structure of local government is run by local borough councils and which I know is different to large counties who have county councils running some services.  Would this encourage you to get out more?    I know this depends largely on your health and what you will learn tomorrow but anything that improves your ability to get around would be good for you.  I would imagine that MacMillan - when you speak with them - would be able to give you some information about local activities which might suit you.

Keep yer pecker up, lovely lady.

  • Just been wondering how you got on today.  I know it's not my place to chase you for information but just wanted to know you were okay.  Please don't feel you have to respond if you don't wish to do so - just wanted to send you my best wishes whatever you do.  Cheers from Annieliz.
