My Journey Continues

Hi all my forum buddies.  Just wanted to post on a new thread as it is more relevant than where my journey began.  Hope to see you here. Jules

  • Lovely photos jules thanks for sharing them with us x

  • Hi everyone and thank you for your nice comments about my photoes.  I do enjoying sharing them with friends and family and my camera has become somewhat of a security blanket when I am out and about as feel I have a purpose when out walking and it has certainly opened my eyes further to the lovely things out there when you take the time to stop and look.

Brian, I hope your woodturning lesson went well and that this chap could be persuaded to re join the Club as sounds as though he would greatly benefit from it now that he  has return from his spell in Australia.  I am sure you loved sharing your skills with him.  Also great that Mrs B wanted to be out and about and always good to give the car a longer run (something my son in law says does them good!!!).

I enjoyed my day out to Colchester yesterday and thankfully the weather stayed dry until just before we began our return journey. Bit chilly this morning but beautifully bright so will enjoy my walk to see Mum later (might have to walk faster to stay warm which can only be a good thing after my afternoon treat yesterday).  I will leave you with a view of this and where I ate it!!.

    Take care everyone.  Jules

  • What a beautiful house Jules and now I get what you meant about your food too. Love the mustachioed coffee and the cake is fab! We had a charity day at work a few weeks ago and one of our star bakers did the same with different coloured layers, very colourful and very clever.  Sue x

  • Hi Jules,

I have just downloaded a whole load more photos of wonderful woodwork, wooden cabins and beautiful scenery which I willbe posting over the next few days/weeks With regard to the woodwork, I am in awe of some of the projects undertaken. The imagingation and skills that have gone into some of this work can only be described as amazing.

I now have the job of moving them to the right folders on my laptop.

I feel sure you wont be dissapointed, Brian.

  • Hi Brian

I will look forward to seeing all the new material you have found for the forum to  wonder at over the coming weeks and months. I do find it quite relaxing to browse such wonderful scenery and workmanship.  I do not have a practical side so  enjoy admiring what others can achieve.

I think I will have a quiet bank holiday as no plans at present.  Fingers crossed it will be mainly dry andI can potter in the garden.  Lovely here today once the drizzle died awaybut did not want to get into the gardening as had an appointment for a smart meter to be installed this afternoon.  Well thankfully the engineer turned up just half an hour into the time slot but unfortunately having looked at my current meter and it's position (plus the fact I am still waiting to have the upper floor rewired) he advised that he could not go ahead and so will need to re-arrange once works done.  Unlike my energy provider he also advised me that there are three years before my current meter actually gets phased out so plenty of time  for the change to be made and if I decide against a smart meter there is always a normal alternative!  As I am currently awaiting a quote for updating the bathroom which will necessitate electrical work too so the 'smart meter' is now on hold.  Apparently I can explain that to my provider when they contact me following today's failed installation....... the mind boggles. It's at times like this that I miss hubby even more as he had far more understanding of such stuff.  I am learning that most things in life are not straightforward and getting frustrated that so much is outside my control.  OK ramble over.

I am off out to walk away my mood ha ha. Take care and best regards to you and yours. Jules

  • Hi Sue

Some of the properties in Colchester were beautiful (town is supposed to be the oldest in England) but it was a case of hunting them out for, as you can imagine, many new builds and shopping malls were also part of the town now.  I always like to go exploring when I visit somewhere as I can shop in high street stores any time.  The fact that this particulary place happened to house tea rooms was a welcome surprise and I am so glad that I spotted it.

Hope you will enjoy the bank holiday weekend  and  that the weather is kind to those of us who like to spend time outside.  Chat soon.  Jules x

  • Hi all

When I returned from my Sunday stroll took these pictures of the front garden (needless to say still have not got around to weeding it yet!!  Jules

  • Hi Everyone

These shots do not warrant a place in beautiful pictures but thought I would share 'evening in my garden' here

Virtual hugs to my forum buddies and have a pleasant weekend, Jules

  • Don't often say this but, you're wrong Jules, these should be in Beautiful Pictures!!  Sue x
