Anxiety after finishing cancer treatment

I have finished all my breast cancer treatments and have struggled with depression, anxiety and panic attacks,

I have also had a lot of discomfort in my pelvic area. The specialist thinks I may have some bacteria in my bladder, which can happen after menopause and through chemo and radiotherapy he said.

I have seen a gynaecologist, urologist and pelvic physio. They all have different opinions but agree it’s pelvic pain. Has anybody else had these kind of problems and if so what was your treatment. Thanks

  • Hi Debs50306986,

I'm sorry to hear that you've been struggling with these difficulties. It's good to hear that you've had the pain checked out by specialists. I'm not sure if there are any next steps planned to help you with this, but I hope that it eases soon. Keep in touch with your doctor about this as much as you need to.

Regarding the mental health difficulties you mention, we have a page on our website about mental health during and after cancer treatment. Hopefully some of this can be helpful for you. On the page there are various links to support options, so do have a look at these if you continue to struggle with this.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
