Thanks everyone for your lovely replies. Partner not having a pet scan now as oncologist said she knew nothing about it. They are continuing with the three rounds of chemo and will scan 3 months after that finishes

thank you. Strange things happening. Oncologist said that she knew nothing of pet scan and gave us the update on Tuesday. Two phone calls today from colorectal nurses saying that my partner had to go for a pet scan. Been referred by a surgeon that no one knows . They both said it's to check the nodule but they are just being over cautious. 
oncologist stated Tuesday there was a nodule at 12 mm but not to worry about it at this stage as a consultant wouldn't operate for that. They would keep an eye on it after next scan after chemo.

what on earth is going on?

its just so upsetting to get this conflicting information. Head spinning !

Hi Lisa,

So you get the bee knees scan after all. Going to be long boring day but see it as a bonus to double-check everything and get best treatment. Try not to worry. Different consultants can say different things. I know what it feels like though and head spinning. As David says just deep breath and get yourself and hubby to hospital in best state possible tomorrow. Try to relax tonight, no over-thinking.

Need to get anything ready? Reset alarms that might have been cancelled?
